Rich Higgins
Rich Higgins is an experienced senior manager with more than 30 years of experience with Department of Energy prime contractors and the naval nuclear power program. While with CH2M HILL, he has been assigned as the Director of Quality Assurance and as Vice President of Environment, Safety & Health. Mr. Higgins has served as the team leader for many root cause analyses over the last 20 years and is the primary instructor for CH2M HILL's 3-day Human Performance Improvement and Causal Analysis training course.
Prior to his arrival with CH2M HILL Hanford Group in 2002, he worked at Mound plant in Miamisburg, Ohio, where he served in several senior management positions with BWXT of Ohio and EG&G, including nuclear operations, facility decommissioning and transfer, maintenance, engineering, and ESH&Q. Prior to that position, he served in several management positions with EG&G at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site, including support services, work control, utilities, maintenance, and logistics.
Mr. Higgins served for 21 years in the Navy's nuclear propulsion program, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. While in the navy, he served in a number of leadership positions in submarine and surface ship operations, radiological controls, quality assurance, engineering, training, nuclear repair, and drydock operations.
Mr. Higgins has a bachelor's degree in technology from the University of the State of New York, Albany, NY, and an MBA from Findlay University, Findlay OH. He is a member of the American Society for Quality and is a Certified Quality Manager.
